W. James (Jim) Dixon, MBA, Ec.D. (F), CEcD

My unwavering commitment to fostering the success of individuals, organizations, communities, and businesses is the driving force behind my dedication to leading transformative change in my community. The roots of my entrepreneurial spirit were planted in my childhood, as I actively contributed to my father's haberdashery in downtown Moose Jaw. This early experience instilled in me the values of customer service excellence and loyalty, shaping my trajectory towards owning and operating two franchised businesses and eventually establishing my boutique consultancy.

Jim Dixon of Dixon & Associates Business Consultants in Moose Jaw, SK

My fervor for effecting positive change at a community-wide level propelled me into the public arena, where I served three terms as a member of the Moose Jaw City Council. During this time, I played a pivotal role in the downtown revitalization and contributed to the development of an experience economy that thrives today. Eager to broaden my impact, I became a Certified Professional Economic Developer with a Fellowship designation. As a regional economic developer at Enterprise Saskatchewan and the Regional Economic Development Authority (REDA), I collaborated with community leaders across the province, spearheading initiatives in transportation, manufacturing, and value-add agriculture. Growing business has been a focus over the years and particularly working with entrepreneurs through mentoring and business development support. Maintaining a steadfast dedication to the growth and prosperity of my clients I recognize the critical importance of mentoring and coaching and helping grow their entrepreneurial skills.

As a lifelong learner, I completed my executive management MBA through Royal Roads University and continue my educational journey by pursuing CMC and PMP designations. This commitment to continuous improvement reflects my belief that success in leadership, business, and life hinges on the ability to cultivate and sustain meaningful human relationships—a sentiment perfectly encapsulated by the words of Kouzes and Posner: "Success in leadership, business, and life is a function of how well people work and play together, and success in leading depends on the capacity to build and sustain the human relationships that enable people to get extraordinary things done.”
